Celebrating Fort Wayne’s Rich Artistic Legacy with Amaryllis… A New Gateway Sculpture by Artist Cary Shafer.

Amaryllis Blossoms!

We are grateful to Sculptor Cary Shafer for his outstanding work creating the Gateway Sculpture, Amaryllis, inspired by the artistic legacy of the Historic West Central Neighborhood. Amaryllis will welcome 100,000 motorists a week into our amazing West neighborhood and our vibrant Downtown Fort Wayne.

Cary was inspired by the paintings of Jody Hemphill Smith who championed the neighborhood for 50 years.
